The Kieleweke wing of ruling Jubilee government has paid back the Tangatanga side kick with the same coin in a letter to the President Uhuru Kenyatta. The letter is vehemently the strongest open-ended anti Deputy President William Ruto attack ever.
In an effort to rebut accusations by the Tangatanga that the president had abandoned and ignored, his home base Mt Kenya region and wandered to the far flung Kavirondo land, the Kieleweke say the president has lived up to his pledges to his people in matters development and governance.
The letter pours vitriolic scorn on Ruto, and Kieleweke tells the President “it is now time for you to protect our people from your Deputy who has been increasingly and openly showing his greed for primitive ascension to power. His arrogance is unhealthy, his vindictiveness is a concern (to us), and we don’t know where we will hide if he becomes President.”
With swords drawn, the Kieleweke letter adds, “We aren’t even sure if he shall spare the Kenyatta family from his burning wrath. Your Deputy has betrayed the trust you had in him, and it is time for you to give us direction on what to do.”
In what can be read the most direct declaration of UhuRuto marriage break up the President at Sagana disclosed,
Uhuru accused Ruto of trying to snatch the button from him before he finishes his lap, “When you sent me, I did not speak to DP Ruto – we spoke to his community. I don’t owe anyone any debt but Kenyans… I will tell his community that instead of waiting, he has come to get the baton from me before I finish the race… there are those who want to inherit the father before he dies or before his body is cold.”
Ruto campaign machine has made no secret that among the dynasty families that his “hustler nation” should target is Kenyatta‘s. Others are listed as; the Odinga Family, the Moi Family, the Biwott Family, the Ndegwa Family, the Mudavadi Family, and the Kalonzo Family, the Nassir Family, the Nyachae Family, to mention but a few. Anyone whose father had a name during the Kenyatta, Moi and Kibaki governments is member of the dynasty – so should Ruto, he was Kanu Secretary General and a cabinet minister in Moi and Kibaki governments.
The Kieleweke letter;
January 29, 2021
Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, CGH.
President of the Republic of Kenya &
Commander-In-Chief of the Defence Forces.
Your Excellency, Sir.
RE: KIELEWEKE MPS LETTER TO PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA
We trust this letter finds you well.
There are people who have abrogated themselves the responsibility of speaking on behalf of Mt. Kenya leaders, as though we have no voice of our own.
We are unhappy with the manner in which this group has been going round misrepresenting the voice of our people; in public gatherings in and outside Mt. Kenya, and in private meetings with their illicit sponsors who are keen to see Mt. Kenya driven by their primitive accumulation of arrogant power.
We have sat back as they demeaned our stature in society, misrepresented our community’s concerns to the public, and are now treating you – Your Excellency – with derision, mockery, ridicule, and contempt. Honour demands of us to respond,
as it is the least we can do to restore the good relationship we have with other communities who also call Kenya home. If we keep quiet, communities who have lived with us amicably for centuries would see us as entitled. You know that this is not a representation of who we are as a people.
Unlike our Tangatanga colleagues, we do not want to sound ungrateful for the support you have extended to us when we made the request that you help us fulfil the Jubilee promises we made during the 2017 campaigns. All of them are progressing very well – including those in the constituencies represented by Tangatanga MPs. Had they spent time with their constituents, they’d have noticed these developments.
Instead, they’ve been busy chanting Ruto-For-President empty sloganeering and antagonizing the people of Mt. Kenya in order to reap from this disintegration.
Your Excellency, you have not stopped at development projects. Indeed, you have fulfilled your promise to appoint our sons and daughters into prestigious positions in the Cabinet. As we speak, Mt. Kenya has more Cabinet Ministers in powerful portfolios than any other region in the country.
The National Assembly Speaker is our son, and so is the National Assembly Majority Leader. The Senate Majority Whip is our son, and so is the Attorney General and the Chief of Defence Forces.
Unlike your shamelessly rogue Deputy, you have gone over and above your call of duty to put our capable sons and daughters in high places in Government without rubbing it in on anyone at every public rally.
Our sons and daughters in the Civil Service have thrived under your Presidency which has been characterized by less talk and more action, not empty words from your disrespectful Deputy who is clearly hell-bent on tarnishing your legacy by antagonizing your Mt. Kenya support base.
Guaranteed Minimum Returns
As we speak, a bill on Guaranteed Minimum Returns is currently before both Houses of Parliament. Our Tangatanga colleagues have never bothered to ask how they could assist in moving it through the stages for it to pass quickly, neither have they shown commitment to help it actualized into law. This is not the first time they are feigning ignorance on Parliamentary Bills meant to alleviate the suffering of our people in Mt. Kenya.
Had they spent time with their constituents, they’d have noticed
We hope they will find time from their Ruto-For-President campaigns to attend Bunge and support it. We know they have never been supportive of your quest to empower the people of Mt. Kenya – they want the Bills to fail so as to continue attacking you for not helping your people.
However, we are here to assure you that we will do everything within our powers to pass the GMR Bills, as we did with the Tea Bill 2020, which is now being lauded as a progressive move that will unshackle our tea farmers from the chains of KTDA slavery.
Politics of Deceit and Betrayal
The politics of betrayal is a subject known too well by everyone in Mt. Kenya – as we have been on the wrong end of it by those who don’t mean well for us, a situation that has put us in a wiser position than ever before.
Without going into history and rekindling painful memories of how Mt. Kenya have suffered due to politics of betrayal, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our Tangatanga colleagues that the current round of betrayal started with them when they betrayed President Kenyatta despite the support he gave them directly and indirectly, to get into the positions they now use to insult him from every day.
In 2017, all politicians in Mt. Kenya were unanimous in their commitment to give you ample time to fulfil your pre-election pledges to our people. It is now clear that our Tangatanga brothers had a sinister agenda when this declaration was being made and they have never meant well for your Presidency. They lied that
they would be your foot soldiers. They weren’t truthful that they would give you all the support you need to run government.
It has not taken long to uncover the sheep-skin they have been wearing over the wolf’s body. Immediately they got into office, they started planning how to take power from you before 2022. Our people’s eyes are now open, they have failed in their sinister motive.
They have now resorted to talking about what will happen
after you leave office while being openly urged on by your Deputy who is in office by virtue of your assurance to the Mt. Kenya people that he wasn’t the same man who participated in the 2007-2008 incarceration of our people living in the Rift Valley.
We gave your Deputy the benefit of doubt in 2013 when we let him insert his head into our Mt. Kenya house. He eventually grew comfortable and started sponsoring violence against our sons as we saw in Kenol Muranga where two of our sons died. He wants to dethrone you from the Mt. Kenya kingpin status and evict every one of us the way he has done with his numerous land cases.
This is a passionate cry from concerned Mt. Kenya leaders that it is now time for you to protect our people from your Deputy who has been increasingly and openly showing his greed for primitive ascension to power. His arrogance is unhealthy, his vindictiveness is a concern, and we don’t know where we will hide if he becomes President.
We aren’t even sure if he shall spare the Kenyatta family from
his burning wrath. Your Deputy has betrayed the trust you had in him, and it is time for you to give us direction on what to do.
You have not told anyone in Mt. Kenya to market Raila Odinga. If you have done so as being alleged by our Tangatanga colleagues, we cannot recall and we aren’t aware. As Mt. Kenya leaders, we have always insisted that any 2022 candidate is welcome to campaign in Mt. Kenya to sell their agenda and tell us what their
respective governments would do for our region.
Mt Kenya people will then decide who they can trust to continue the work started and done by the you, without undue manipulation from anyone. We have no clue where our Tangatanga colleagues got this idea that DP Ruto is the only person allowed to campaign in Mt. Kenya, as this amounts to inter-ethnic hatred which goes against the spirit of national cohesion and integration as espoused in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
DP Ruto and his Tangatanga cohort have been running a succession management campaign from 2017 – immediately you two (2) were elected. Why are they suddenly concerned that the President has an eye on who will take over after him, in 2022? It’s only natural – especially if your initial preferred successor absconded his own job to try and get your job before you finish your term?
We are standing here today reassuring you that for as long as you haven’t shown us a successor, we shall not fall in the same trap as them.
Political leaders are not special Kenyans as far as dealing with crime is concerned.
If you have stolen, corrupted or committed a crime do not say you are being ‘harassed’ when criminal investigators come after you. You cannot blame your political position for the consequences of your greed and bad manners and when you get into trouble with police.
We would like to advise our Tangatanga colleagues to refer to the Bible they are used to quoting every day, as highlighted in Proverbs 28:1 – “The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” This is our advice to them that if they don’t
want to be at loggerheads with the law, they should stop committing crime and no one will be after them.
The people propagating threats of violence are Tangatanga. They are the ones who have created an ‘Us vs Them’ political matrix where they have been inciting the rich against the poor. This is a dangerous narrative that could cause untold violence at very local level.
Having realized their folly in inciting socioeconomic
hatred and civil strife in the country, they are now trying to create a victim mentality for sympathy. No one is interested in assassinating anyone from Tangatanga. We urge you to do something about it before the destructive politics of Tangatanga consumes your legacy.
Kenyans from all walks of life applauded you for the nationalistic speech delivered during the burial of Mama Hannah Mudavadi. For the first time, and on clear terms, you were categorical – that if you think you can mobilize politically by creating a
rich-versus-poor campaign, what stops someone else from starting a 42-versus-2 campaign using the same logic, and calling the Kikuyu/Kalenjin the political dynasties of Kenyan tribes?
This is the dangerous politics Tangatanga started and they are now crying foul when the President is reminding them of their
immaturity in setting up Kenya for war.
Let’s be honest. That hurriedly written letter by our Tangatanga colleagues was purely a cry to be invited to Sagana. However, considering that Sagana is about promoting the BBI in our region, and based on the fact that these particular group is already committed against the BBI, why would they be invited to a function they have shown open hostility to?
Whenever they meet in Karen to plan how to incite Kenyans against the President we have never asked to attend. Their attendance at Sagana or anywhere else the President is would therefore be superfluous, unjustified and pointless. We are not in the mood to restart conversation with people who have been attacking the President’s character, his family and the
people of Mt. Kenya.
After Sagana III we shall go to the people and meet them there. We are ready to protect the President, his family and the people of Mt.
Kenya from ridicule and disrespect. The time for niceties is over. Let us meet on the ground.
May God Bless Your Excellency,
God Bless the people of Mt. Kenya
God Bless Kenya
Mt. Kenya United for BBI.
The letter has names of 60 parliamentarians as opposed to Tangatanga’s 41 signatories. However, there are several MPs whose names appear on both letters – among them John Muchiri Nyaga of Manyatta Constituency in Embu, Erick Muchangi, Runyenjes, George Gitonga of Tharaka, James Githua Wacukuru of Kabete – among other self confessed Ruto supporters.
The Tangatanga list had signatures appended unlike the Kieleweke list of names only like a cut-and-paste job. Reports say the MPs on the Tangatanga list apended their signatures upon receiving a large sum of money.
When a sitting president says his deputy wants to inherit him while alive or before the body is cold… there is more than meets the eye!
Ruto must prepare himself for a very rough time ahead. His pretences as a Christian and the hustlers’ beneficiary have a very short lifespan. Those that have struggled to build their wealth by whatever means will not allow a Jimmy-come-lately to ruin their families lives just because he believes corruption money can corrupt his way to the Presidency.
