Kenya faces threat of massive inflation

Shocking and irrefutable evidence has emerged of how millions upon millions of “generic cash” funded the March 4^th General Election. The money in Ksh 1,000 notes was manufactured for well-healed select candidates and now poses a major threat to trigger massive inflation in the near future.

Fears are rife that the massive amount of the “generic cash” could set off inflationary trends reminiscent of the 1992 General Election when “paper money” was injected into Kanu re-election campaign for former Dictator Daniel arap Moi. The paper money was channeled through the notorious Youth for Kanu “YK-92” lobby group whose flagship was the Ksh 500 alias “Jirongo”.

Unemployed youths constitute a time bomb ticking towards disaster

A former media consultancy client and friend of mine, whom I met at the University of Nairobi in early 1970s, the former president of East African Court of Justice, Moijo Mataiyia ole Keuiwa, (God rest his soul in peace) revealed to me that in his early school days he was growing to be a devout Roman Catholic but was driven away by the hypocrisy of his Italian father-cum-teacher.

Like many other students, ole Keuiwa was an innocent believer that Catholic fathers never married because their oath of celibacy prohibited them from engaging in affairs that would lead then astray towards sexual activities. That was until one late Sunday afternoon when he wandered into some bushy scrubland and heard some female giggling that captured his curiosity.

The clamour and determination by Members of Parliament to disband the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) is a precursor to establish Parliamentary Dictatorship in Kenya.

Parliamentarians have in recent years amply demonstrated their intolerance to any Commission that questions their integrity and corrupt manner of conducting themselves. This was very well demonstrated by the 10^th Parliament when it sent the directors of the defunct Kenya Anti Corruption Commission (KACC) packing after verbose CEO Patrick Lumumba cast his net over the corrupt in parliament.

85 per cent of road accidents in Kenya are as a result of driver error

Road carnage has become a matter of great concern the world over.  Thousands of lives are lost daily through road crashes that also cripple tens of thousands while inflicting heavy economic dents on governments and households.

The United Nations declared 2011-2020 the “UN Decade for Road Safety Action” two years ago. In Kenya the former President Mwai Kibaki last November put ink on paper to establish the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), which was actualized a few weeks ago.
